Me

My first real job, which lasted all the way through high school, was as a part-time clerk in a pharmacy where most of the staff chain-smoked and the full-time clerks, all adult women, led rocky, desperate, and extremely interesting lives. I dusted shelves, sold Mars bars and Red Hots, stocked hemorrhoid creams, and dreamed of escape.

Born in San Francisco, and currently living in central Mexico, I earned an M.A. in English Literature/Creative Writing from SFSU and am the very lucky winner of the 2019 Many Voices Project Prize for Prose. My stories have appeared in many fine publications, including Sequestrum, Bellevue Literary Review, New England Review, failbetter, Litro, and Orca.

Evidence of why I need a writing space with a door that locks (in progress).
